Let me introduce myself and why this project is so close to my heart and life. My name is Ashley Sapp. Almost four months ago I was in a car accident with a drunk driver. My life completely changed that day. I was 14 weeks pregnant with twins. I lost the twins 3 days after our car accident. Shortly after, I began thinking about what I could do to bring awareness. Anytime I mention my babies, it’s such a “taboo” conversation to most people I come in contact with. This needs to change! I started reaching out to other women who have been in my situation, explaining what I wanted to do, and seeing if they wanted to be involved. In a matter of a few days, I had 15 ladies wanting to be involved.
After my first session of meeting to take their images for this project, I had several more people reach out to me to be involved. This project has helped not only myself, but each and every family that has participated. We pray it can help people understand what these families go through and bring awareness that there is help for you if you need anything. Please take a minute of your time to watch this video. www.facebook.com/expressyourselfstudio Already planning my next project, "Adoption" If interested in being a part of this, please contact me: [email protected] or like us on facebook and message me! Reasons some of the ladies were involved: Bethany – “I wanted to be a part of this amazing project because I want to get Cayden's story out and save another family from going through what I've had to endure by losing him. I know what it's like to truly lose a part of you. What helps me is to keep his memory alive, to make little things in his honor, and write about my baby. I hate when people say atleast he's in a better place, or you can have more kids.” Heather – “I wanted to be a part of this project so others know they aren't alone and what they are going through there are others out there fighting the same battle some ladies are afraid to talk about their infertility or PCOS because it's heartbreaking they also think that no one understands it nor will they care about what they’re going through.” Tammy - “.I wanted to be a part of it so others will know what you went through and to make it more aware.” Stacey – “I want people to know you never know what someone is going through. And it is ok to speak out about it.” Jessica – “I wanted to be apart of this project because I know how hard it is to open up about loss. I knew that loss awareness wasn't really talked about and I wanted to help make a difference so other women knew they could openly talk about their loss.” Nikki - I wanted to be a part of this project because it is helping me heal and be able to speak about my daughter and to know I'm not alone in this pain and darkness Cynthia – “I wanted to be a part of this because I know what it feels like to be alone, even when surrounded by people. I cannot imagine what it would feel like being completely alone and going through this, and I know there are women out there who are. That keeps me going and inspires me to support them and to raise awareness.” Miranda - I wanted people to know you don't have to be silent about what you went through..your child and your story matters.! Michelle - I wanted to be a part to help show that it is possible to have that rainbow baby or babies. To show you don't have to give up. In my situation I didn't try as long as some but I was still heartbroken when we lost our precious baby after getting pregnant. Ashley T. - I wanted to be apart of this project because I want people to know they are not alone I know what it feels like to feel hopeless and to watch everyone have the one thing you want the most. Stephanie -“ I want to be apart of this to help bring women together and let them know they're not alone and we can support each other and help the ones who are new to this pain & heartbreak .” If you are going through the same thing as us and live in the Charlotte, NC area, please join Cynthia's facebook group for encouragement, help, or just to talk: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1621851981401054/ To Learn about Cynthia's precious angel baby, Noah, go to: https://www.facebook.com/groups/793188414122126/ To learn about Bethany’s precious angel baby Cayden, go to: https://www.facebook.com/squishysmommy2015/
